Kennedy UZOKA was the Group Managing Director/CEO of the United Bank for Africa(UBA) from 2016-2022. United Bank for Africa is a leading financial services group in sub-Saharan Africa with a presence in 20 African countries, as well as the United Kingdom, the United States of America, the United Arab Emirates and France.
As the GMD/CEO, he led the development and execution of UBA Group’s long-term strategy. Prior to becoming the GMD, he was UBA Group’s Deputy Managing Director and CEO, UBA Africa managing the country subsidiaries across 18 countries in Africa as well as supervising 3 key strategic support areas in Digital Banking, Information Technology and Personal Banking. As Deputy Managing Director, he was the Executive in charge of the Group’s businesses in New York and London.
He holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Benin, South-south Nigeria and an MBA from the University of Lagos, South-west Nigeria. Mr. Uzoka has over two decades of experience covering core banking, corporate communications and marketing, strategy, and business advisory services. He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School(AMP) in Boston USA, the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the London Business School, United Kingdom.
